E-readers are going to be huge in the lives of media organizations and much thought is going into how they will look and work. The above video shows a particular elegant vision from design consultancy Berg done for media company Bonnier. What still needs to be properly addressed is how third-party brands, or advertisers, will feature in the e-reader world. The opportunities are huge as are the challenges. But they must not be ignored. Too often in the digital arena the networking / media services are created, the audience gained and then the managers wonder how they are going to generate meaningful revenue and haphazardly insert brands into an environment never really designed to receive them.
